Polyester Fibers taps Charles Adams as ceo

Miami -- Empire Investment Holdings has appointed Charles Adams as the new ceo of its Polyester Fibers division, a holding company that manages five operating units.

Polyester Fibers is a major manufacturer and distributor of high-loft nonwoven materials for the bedding, furniture, industrial, auto, filtration, craft, and seasonal markets in the U.S. The company is comprised of five operating units -- Tupelo Fibers, Cameo Fibers, Cumulus Fibres, Mountain Mist, and Buffalo Batt - and within those operates 10 plants and two distribution centers.

Adams brings more than 30 years of career experience working in the industry to his new post at Polyester Fibers. He has held senior executive positions at Milliken & Company, Morgan Fabrics and the Victor Group.

He spent the longest stretch at Milliken, where he spent 26 years assigned to various senior leadership roles, including general manager of the commercial and residential interior fabrics business. Later, he moved to Los Angeles-based Morgan Fabrics as its president and coo.

Most recently, Adams was chief officer of sales and products for the Victor Group, a Quebec-based supplier of commercial and residential fabrics.

"I have great confidence in Charles and his team," said David Alfonso, Empire's chairman and ceo. "Polyester Fibers is well positioned for meaningful growth and Charles is the right industry leader that will provide a significant impact on executing that growth."
