Atlanta - JoAnn Miller-Marshall, a 19-year veteran with AMC Tradeshows, has been promoted to the newly created position of executive vice president, reporting to Jeffrey L. Portman, Sr., president and coo of AmericasMart Atlanta and its AMC Inc. parent entity. All AmericasMart home, gift, apparel and LightFair International sales will come under her direction, thus unifying all AMC tradeshows sales.
Under Miller's leadership over the years, the AmericasMart temporaries have grown exponentially, notably through the addition of signature categories and collections and the expansion of a large and growing exhibitor base throughout the AmericasMart campus. Among her achievements are the AmericasMart High Design juried collection; the Collegiate Licensed Products Pavilion; the Body & Soul, Boutique and Handmade collections and, most recently, Birding & Backyard Nature and the HD Home category.
"JoAnn has grown our tradeshow business nationally and globally - not only in sheer numbers of exhibitors and booths but in an equally important long list of innovations, including new categories, new programs and new ways of serving our customers," notes Portman. "This advancement affirms her incredible gifts and talents and signals continuing growth for our tradeshows business."
Miller-Marshall's promotion and the unification of tradeshow sales under her direction also reflects the growing synergies between the gift/home and apparel areas, where an increasing number of both buyers and exhibitors have business interests in both. The new alignment of AmericasMart's fall home, gift, gourmet and apparel markets, with apparel running October 13-17 and home/gift/gourmet taking place October 14-16, is evidence of this cross-market interest.
