New York - Luxury linens and accessories house Frette will launch a campaign to aid children in Rwanda that kicks off on Fashion's Night Out, Sept. 8.
During the weeklong program, Frette will donate a mattress to a child in Rwanda for every sheet set sold. The event launches with an evening of cocktails and shopping and will continue through Sept. 12.
Frette is partnering in the effort with Same Sky, a trade-not-aid group that works with artisans in Rwanda who produce hand-blown, glass-beaded jewelry and artisans in Zambia who make Prosperity Bracelets. Both will be available at Frette during the Sept. 8 shopping event.
"We are delighted to align ourselves with an initiative that not only inspires our aesthetic, but also serves to empower women everywhere," said Filippo Arnaboldi, vp of Frette North America.
Avega, a non-profit organization, will coordinate the distribution of Rwanda Foam mattresses to the children of Same Sky's artisans.
