Dallas – Feizy Rugs is mourning the loss of director of advertising Jeanne Carroll, who died yesterday at the age of 52. Funeral arrangements are pending.
Carroll and her 24-year-old daughter, Janice Leigh Hill, were the victims of a murder-suicide committed by Carroll’s estranged son-in-law.
Carroll was born in Dallas, where she lived and worked for many years in advertising. She joined Feizy Rugs in 1995. During her tenure, she was instrumental in the creation of Feizy’s award-winning Feizy Home Catalogue and in securing Feizy’s four-time recognition by the Accessories Resource Team (ART) as Area Rug Manufacturer of the Year.
In a statement, the company said of Carroll: “Hands-on from the beginning to the end of each project, she was admired and respected by her peers and colleagues as a consummate professional. Her extensive product knowledge and professional drive made her an indispensable resource not only to the Feizy Rugs family, but also within the area rug industry.
“Jeanne will be remembered for her fierce love of her family, the pride she took in her work and her infectious laugh. She was an inspirational leader to her Feizy Rugs staff members and colleagues with a vibrant, larger-than-life personality. She will be missed deeply by all,” the company added.
Carroll is survived by her mother, Elizabeth Heuss, husband, John Wayne Carroll, daughter Jennifer Carroll Fratar, son John Wayne Carroll II, and grandson, Zane Bandfield. Carroll also leaves behind sister Bobbie Taylor and brothers John, David and Danny Heuss and their respective families, as well as many extended family members, close friends and neighbors.
