Couristan Taps Watson for Sourcing

30-year Vet Will Report to Rob Couri

Fort Lee, N.J. — Area rug manufacturer and importer Couristan recently hired 30-year veteran of the flooring and furniture industries Kelly Watson, appointing her to the newly created post of director of sourcing and product development for area rugs.

Watson was most recently floor coverings buyer for Federated Department Store's Macy's West division.

In her new post, she reports to Rob Couri, president and CEO, and is responsible for spearheading the company's product development and sourcing efforts for its area rug divisions.

Another recent new hire for Couristan is Larry Purcell, who has been appointed territory manager for the Minnesota and Iowa regions.

Purcell comes from Mohawk Industries, where he worked as territory manager for the fashion division, representing its Karastan, Ralph Lauren, Customweave and Helios brands.

Purcell reports to Geoffrey Siebold, residential Midwest regional sales manager.
