Mukherjee to lead new bedding export division

Hassan, India – Pradeep Mukherjee has been hired as president, global marketing by Himatsingka Linens, a division of Himatsingka Seide Ltd., a major manufacturer and exporter of silk products out of India.
The company’s product range is in furnishings, upholstery and bridal wear fabrics made out of silk, linen and very fine cotton. This year, Himatsingka Linens invested approx US $80 million to set up a new bed linen plant to produce sheet sets and duvet sets that Mukherjee asserted are "comparable to top-of-line Italian products."
The company’s senior team will visit the United States next month and Himatsingka Linens plans to exhibit at Heimtextil in January 2007.
Earlier, Mukherjee spent 23 years at Bombay Dyeing, finishing there as vice president of exports. More recently, he assisted BKS Fine Linens of India in it effort to build out home textiles production.
