CHF to debut patented towel

New York – CHF Industries will introduce a patented towel under the One Home brand that addresses how thoroughly towels dry out of the shower, how quickly they dry on a rod, and how long they stay fresh.

“We talked to consumers and they told us that they expect their towels to not only look good but work hard as well,” said Joan Karron, executive vice president, CHF Industries. “These towels are soft and dry faster so they stay fresh longer, requiring less laundering. And we’ve built them right – not too heavy, not too light – so that they get into all the nooks and crannies when drying.”

The towels were developed using a proprietary technology of volcanic crystals that are permanently embedded in the fibers so they won’t wear or wash out. The technology was initially created for the athletic apparel market with moisture evaporating and odor-absorbing characteristics. Towels made with this technology have been tested to dry 40% faster in the dryer, for an additional energy and cost savings. 

“These products not only perform well, but also maintain a soft hand that only gets softer with washing,” said John Cafaro, executive vp of merchandising, bath and bedding. “Consumers told us they are concerned about buying towels with performance-enhancing finishes that wash out after a few launderings. The unique architecture of this towel, made with molecules which are embedded in the fibers, ensures long-lasting durability and addresses this concern.”

One Home towels will debut during New York Home Fashions Week and are expected to launch at retail in early 2011.
