Pawtucket, R.I. – Braided texture rug and accessories manufacturer cmi (Colonial Mills Inc.) has received for the fifth time an AmericasMart America’s Magnificent Carpets award, this time in the category designated as Power-Loomed Rugs from $400.01 to $1,000 for a 5-by-8.
The honor comes at the heels of cmi’s recent introduction of its trademarked Thimbleberries Tisbury design in the brookside mist color, and also for the company’s new contoured rectangle shape.
The America’s Magnificent Carpets Awards recognizes product design. Rugs are judged on balance, color, design, value, weave, texture and craftsmanship/artistry.
Cmi’s Tisbury design coordinates with acclaimed designer, Lynette Jensen’s, Thimbleberries-branded fabric and quilt patterns and is part of cmi’s new Elite Collection, which is only available to key accounts.
“Cmi is one of the few firms in this industry that has won this award in multiple years,” said Chas Sydney, svp of new business development for AmericasMart Atlanta.
Tisbury features contoured rectangle and oval shapes, Thimbleberries-branded fabric and quilt designs and four colors -- brookside mist, autumn cover, Yukon sky and roasted chestnut. The durable, reversible rug is a blend of 65% polyester and 35% cotton and is constructed with flat braids. The rugs come is many sizes, spanning 22-by-34 through 9-by-11.
Donald Scarlata, cmi’s president and ceo, said the Tisbury collection also includes trivets, stair treads, placemats, chair pads, table runners, waste baskets, baskets, rug slices and heart rugs.
