NPD to Track Home Textiles

Port Washington, N.Y. — The NPD Group has begun tracking home textiles sales and will start to make its reports available this summer.
NPD will collect data monthly for its online consumer database of 2.5 million members and deliver its results quarterly.
“The home textiles industry is a complex industry in the midst of tremendous change,” said Peter Greene, vice president and general manager of NPD Houseworld, the division of NPD Group launching the new project.
NPD Houseworld also follows sales of home appliances, housewares and home improvement products. The NPD Group tracks data in almost every major general merchandise category as well as food.
