London Luxury to produce Sharper Image line

New York -- London Luxury has signed a five-year licensing agreement with The Sharper Image to produce bed and bath products.

The Sharper Image is in the process of relaunching as a virtual brand after last year’s bankruptcy of the 186-store chain, known for futuristic gadgets, electronics and other innovative lifestyle projects. The company’s assets were acquired last May by Hilco Consumer Capital, Gordon Brothers Group and Bluestar Alliance.

London Luxury will produce towels, pillows, sheets, comforters and heated blankets targeting department stores, specialty chains, clubs and select retail accounts.

The line will debut in London Luxury’s New York showroom at 295 Fifth Ave. during the New York Home Fashions Market, which runs March 9-13. The Shaper Image home textiles products will roll out at retail in the second half of the year.

“We have always focused our efforts on creating products that are not only functional, but also provide key consumer benefits,” said Marc Jason, ceo of London Luxury “The Sharper Image brand has always strived to achieve those same attributes, which is what has made them such an impressive and powerful brand.”

Federico de Bellegarde, The Sharper Image’s vp of licensing, said: “In today's economy, we know consumers are looking for solutions that not only deliver on superior quality, but also provide enhanced value.”
