Pillowtex names Sara Lee chief Gannaway president

Kannapolis, NC — Tapping into a deep background of branding and marketing, Pillowtex has appointed Michael Gannaway as president, effective Oct. 1.
Gannaway, who will report to Pillowtex chairman and ceo David Perdue — himself a brand guru from Reebok — is currently president and ceo of customer business teams and mega-brand marketing at Sara Lee Corp. In his new role, Gannaway will be responsible for the company's sales and marketing and merchandising efforts and will be located at its headquarters here.
Gannaway was with Sara Lee nearly 10 years, during which he led teams that developed and implemented growth strategies for the Hanes, Bale, Champion, Carters, Just My Size and Polo Ralph Lauren underwear brands.
