Emeryville, Ca. - International home furnishings chain Ikea has completed a redesign project at its store here in the San Francisco area.
Updated departments in the Emeryville, Calif., store include bedding, textiles, cookware, lighting, and home organization. All the marketplace displays, product bins, shelving and merchandise communications were revamped. The initiative also re-routed the flow of shoppers through the space to direct them to new vignette areas.
Ikea Emeryville will mark the official completion and reopening this week, on April 19, 20 and 21. The celebration will include prize drawings, three-day-only discounted products, food sampling, and live music as well as face painting for the kids.
"After months of hard work, we are thrilled to reopen our marketplace to customers," said Ikea Emeryville store manager Pat Choa. "They now will find more inspiring, updated displays, new products and a redesigned layout for an even better shopping experience."
The 274,000-sq.-ft. Ikea Emeryville opened in April 2000.
