NPD Group taps 18-year Nielsen exec to head Canadian market research

Port Washington, NY - Retail and consumer research source The NPD Group Inc. has appointed Mike Leahy as he president of its Canadian market research businesses, overseeing all aspects of the company's technology, home, fashion, food and custom market research businesses in the North American country.

Leahy brings more than 20 years of market research career experience to his new post. He spent 18 years with Nielsen Media Research in Canada, serving for five of those years as president of Nielsen Media Canada and then as interim president of the merged BBM Nielsen Media Canada research entity.

Over the past four years he worked with Angus Reid Strategies and Harris/Decima, also in Canada.

Leahy is based in NPD's Toronto office.
