Arlee Home Fashions dec pillow assortment
At the New York Market - After testing the waters last market, Arlee Home Fashions is now more eagerly embarking on a recent company effort to expand its distribution via a new collection of specialty-minded dec pillows and table linens.
Assembled attractively in a cozy vignette in its 261 Fifth Avenue showroom, Arlee's new specialty dec pillows comfortable fit together and yet can as easily stand alone. The designs feature Bohemian-like, vintage fabric inspired patchworks, colors and embellished detailing with contemporary appeal.
As company president David Frankel explained, "This is very different for us, and it's very exciting for us. We're trying out a new category to see if maybe we can start some a conversation with [stores] we hadn't talked to before."
The specialty-type retailers Arlee is courting with this new collection, he said, "are the kind who buys differently because they buy items" as opposed to bulk goods.
"We're seeing a trend where people are starting to buy individual pieces they like as accents to their homes," Frankel continued. "And the retailers who would sell these pillows can get the higher-income customer and make the sale if the value is there."
The average retail these dec pillows falls in the $30 neighborhood, representing a step up from the company's core line, which retails for $9.99 to $19.99, depending on size and construction.
