Portico taps Home Source for organic, sustainable program

“Portico is the true, certified organic brand – the real McCoy in home,” said Keith Sorgeloos, Home Source ceo. “It will further enhance the Home Source arsenal of unique products for bed and bath.”
The product line will include fashion bedding, towels, bathrobes, decorative pillows, throws, and blankets, the companies said.
The Portico program will be tailored for a range of distribution channels such as select department store soft shops, fine linen specialty boutiques, and luxury hospitality chains.
Home Source will require any manufacturers participating in the program to be certified according to the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) and meet the criteria of the USDA for organic textile products, the companies said. Packaging and labeling also will be environmentally responsible. Factories will also be audited for trade and social compliance.
