Cone gains two, loses one

New York — Dawn Stopka has joined Cone Decorative Fabrics as senior designer for the jobber and retail channels.

Formerly vp, design for Main Street, she reports to Susan Ziccardi, vp, creative director. "Dawn's joining the company is part of our emphasis on design," said Burt Kaplan, president. Initially, he said, she will focus on wovens, but also will expand into prints.

In other moves Gary Stein, vp sales, has left the company. Stein's position will not be filled, and his duties will be assumed by Tom Finneran, senior vp, Kaplan said.

Carmen Vasquez, formerly with Cherokee, has joined the company to work with Luis Hernandez in sales to the finished product markets of outdoor furniture and top of the bed. Vasquez and Hernandez report to Julie Marini, director of manufactured product.
