Gottschalks refines website features

Fresno, CA — Gottschalks has strengthened its website's features to improve integration with its stores, visitor navigation, and its on-line bridal registry, as well as adding back-end features to reduce order handling costs.
"We have improved the look and feel of the site, providing more flexibility and ease of use for visitors as well as providing more focus on our stores," said John Zavada, vp and chief information officer. "While we continue to offer select merchandise for online purchasing, more importantly the new site offers improved integration with our stores which allow us to alert visitors to special store promotions and other customer programs."
In addition, the site has a new back-end order system, which integrates online, mail and telephone orders, that the company expects to reduce order handling costs. Gottschalks partnered with Fresno-based VisionOne to develop the new site.
