828 International Trading Co. is making its move into the New York market with a recently signed a lease for a 2,890-square-foot showroom on the 11th floor at 295 Fifth Ave.
828 recently expanded its accent rug size offerings, making it a good fit for the New York Home Textiles market, company officials indicated.
"We've been considering [opening a permanent showroom in New York City] for the past three years," ceo John Shepherd told HTT. "Now seemed like a good time to do it. We have the right products for it, with our accent sizes, our Cabana Joe line and outdoor mats, which we are looking at adding now."
The company also operates a permanent showroom at the Atlanta AmericasMart convention center where 828 has been a tenant since 1986.
The company also exhibits annually at the Surfaces and High Point markets, but at booths.
