Sphinx expands AmericasMart showroom, warehouse
June 5, 2002,
Atlanta — Marking its second showroom expansion this year, Sphinx by Oriental Weavers is again increasing the size of its space at AmericasMart for the Atlanta International Area Rug Show.
The company attributes the recent expansion to increased demand for its handmade rug offering, which was first introduced in January. Two new handmade collections will be added to the line and introduced this summer.
Sphinx is also about to break ground on an expansion project of its Dalton, GA, warehouse to accommodate the growth of both its machinemade and handmade businesses. The company is adding 52,000 square feet — or 50 percent more space — to its existing facility. Construction is set to start in July and expected to be completed by the end of this year.
