D'huyvetter dies suddenly at 59

Oriental Weavers USA experienced a loss when Paul D'huyvetter, senior vp, died suddenly of a heart attack Nov. 15 at his office here. He was 59.
D'huyvetter joined Oriental Weavers USA in the mid- '90s and headed the company's sales and marketing efforts through what it described as its "most dynamic period of growth." Most recently, he was overseeing the construction of a large addition to the company's manufacturing and distribution facilities.
He entered the textiles business with Beaulieu of America and played an important role in the development of the its area rug business.
D'huyvetter was born in Oudenaarde, Belgium, and moved to the United States when he was 15. During the early part of his career, he was a shoe buyer at Lazarus Department Store in Columbus, OH.
Survivors include his wife, Julie Bursiek D'huyvetter, son Paul, daughter Jessica and mother Julia. He is also survived by two sisters and three brothers, nieces and nephews.
