Shaw taps vp of sales, marketing

Shaw Living has appointed John McLeod to the newly created position of vice president of sales and marketing for mass merchants.
Jeff Meadows, division vice president, said that McLeod "has a tremendous track record in the home business from a relationship standpoint and a performance standpoint. We're happy to have him lead our efforts."
McLeod most recently was vice president of sales for Monticello, Ark.-based Burlington Rug Corp., where he spent almost two years. Prior to that he held the same position at Mohawk Home, where he worked in various posts for more than a decade.
In his new post, he will be responsible for all sales and marketing of Shaw Living's product lines — bath, accent and area rugs, doormats and top-of-bed — into mass merchants. He will report to Meadows.
Saeid Korhani, chairman and CEO of Burlington Rug Corp., said he is hoping to fill McLeod's vacant post quickly.
In related Shaw Living news, Tommy Caldwell recently resigned from his post as national sales manager. Caldwell came to Shaw as part of the company's acquisition in April 2003 of Georgia Tufters, where he was president and chief operating officer. He could not be reached for comment.
