Mohawk's Hill calls it quits

Sugar Valley, GA — Longtime Mohawk Home executive Larry Hill has resigned from his post as vp, national sales.

Hill, who spent the past nine years with the company, said he wants to spend more time with his family.

Hill originally joined Mohawk in 1993 when the company bought the first of two textile companies of which Hill was a founding principal — first, American Rug Craftsman and then later, in 1996, American Weavers.

Aside from being a founder, Hill served as director of sales operations for both of those companies. He held his most recent post at Mohawk for the past three years, reporting directly to president Bill Kilbride.

Hill's resignation comes on the heels of a recent staff restructuring at Mohawk. Kilbride told HTT that he intends to replace Hill, but only after conducting a thorough search both in house and with outside applicants.
