Williamsburg is looking to expand the design reach of its brand with a new bath accessories line and other introductions in table linens, rugs and bedding. The new lines will debut at the New York Gift Market in August.
The company launched its first bath accessories collection, geared toward upscale specialty stores, with Blair Garden, a pattern of scattered wildflowers on a sunny yellow background by Waverly. The collection features a shower curtain, bath rugs, embroidered guest bath towels, a cup, tray, tissue box, soap dish and trash can. Guest towels are produced by C&F Enterprises and accessories are by Decorative Things. Prices range from $79 for the shower curtain to $60 for the wastebasket and $18 for a set of two guest towels.
Additional patterns are being developed from Language of the Garden prints by Waverly for the spring 2005 New York Home Textiles Market.
In addition, a new collection of cotton table linens, by India Overseas, has also been launched. The new Aqua/Brown Table Linens offer a design with Medallion Placemats inspired by a circa 1770 linen handkerchief from the Colonial Williamsburg textiles collections. Checked Napkins were recently developed to coordinate. Placemats and napkins come in green, yellow, aqua and melon. They retail for $25 for a set of four or $7 each, and napkins are $14 for a set of four or $4 each.
In rugs, Capel has added new chenille basketweave rugs in a variety of sizes and price points that are available in China blue, mulled wine, cinnabar honey, garden green and ocean mist. Rugs are constructed of 95 percent cotton and 5 percent polyester. They retail from $29 for a 13-by-18-inch rug to $1,549 for a 10-by-14-foot rug.
Williamsburg and Pine Cone Hill are expanding the casual lifestyle brand with a new bedding line featuring an assortment of colors, textures and design elements.
" 'Williamsburg: A New Revolution,' is a truly revolutionary look in 18th-century color and design," said Annie Selke, president of Pine Cone Hill. "Many of the colors in this new collection were inspired by the fashions of the 18th century. This collection is a celebration of an earlier appreciation for color and texture."
The collection includes coverlets, quilts and duvets, such as the Beaufort coverlet in magenta cotton sateen embroidered with silver and lime embellishments; the Liberty quilt in dramatic hot pastels; and the Wythe Crewel duvet, which blends pink, lime and chartreuse in an embroidered graphic floral vine design on an aqua ground.
New fabrics include Pemberly, a silk woven brocade with delicate flowers on an emerald background, and Abigail, a rich pink and yellow brocaded stripe in silk. Additional accessories include the Aldrich Plaid taffeta bedskirt and pillows, and the Flame Stitch pillow and rug, micro-hooked of 100 percent wool in 18th-century colors.
