BJ's Names Wilson SVP

BJ's Wholesale Club has named department store veteran Richard Wilson senior vice president of general merchandise, overseeing domestics, electronics, giftware, seasonal merchandise, furniture, books, toys and sporting goods.

He succeeds Edward Beevers, who will continue as a consultant to BJ's until he leaves the company at the end of the year.

Wilson joined BJ's Wholesale Club as vice president, divisional merchandise manager four months ago from Federated Department Stores' Macy's division, where he was senior vice president for tabletop, luggage and Macy's Home Store. Prior to Macy's, he was senior vice president and general merchandise manager for the Home division of May Company Department Stores' Filene's division.

In his new position, he reports directly to Karen Stout, executive vice president of merchandising.

Stout said, “Since joining the company last spring, he has begun to make meaningful contributions in category assortments and presentations.”
