New York - Sheila Charton has joined Home Textiles Today as sales account manager effective today as part of HTT's expansion into homewares categories and in advance of the publication's January 2014 relaunch as Home & Textiles Today.
Charton, who will be based at HTT's New York offices, will be handling sales for the publication and website for the homewares categories, including home storage, bath hardware and hard goods and cleaning goods. She will be working with accounts throughout the country.
She was most recently senior director of leasing at the 7W New York showroom building, where she has handling leasing deals since 2004 for suppliers to the textiles, tabletop and gift markets. From 2001 to 2004, she was director of cause-related marketing for amfAR, the American Foundation of AIDS Research. Prior to that, she was director of special events and corporate development for the organization.
Charton also served as the senior director of development for the New York City Partnership & Chamber of Commerce, and before that was founding president of Caradonna, an import and marketing company that promoted European gift products in the U.S.
"Sheila is a great addition to our team, " said Warren Shoulberg, publisher for HTT. "Having been involved with a key home products market building, she knows the industry well and can help us greatly as we expand into these new merchandising classifications."
