Lady Henrietta Spencer-Churchill visit highlights Loloi's Kensington rug launch

High Point, N.C. - Lady Henrietta Spencer-Churchill visited the Loloi showroom during the High Point Market for the introduction of the Kensington Collection of rugs, which she designed for the Dallas-based manufacturer. For its latest rug collection, Loloi turned to the sensibilities of the British nobility.
The company launched the Kensington Collection of rugs at High Point. The rugs were designed by English interior decorator Lady Henrietta Spencer-Churchill, the eldest daughter of John Spencer-Churchill, 11th Duke of Marlborough.
Cyrus Loloi, a principal of Loloi, said the reception for Lady Henrietta was overwhelmingly positive and the rug introduction opened new avenues for the company.
"The Kensington collection helped position Loloi at the luxury end of the Market, and designers and buyers were excited to have this option for their clients and customers," Loloi said.
The rugs are hand-knotted in India of 100% bamboo silk. The rugs' patterns are based on traditional Persian designs with modern color palettes and the sheen that comes from bamboo silk.
"I love the colors. I think it's fantastic. They're very usable. You can use them on wood floors or as area rugs on top of carpet," Spencer-Churchill said while visiting Loloi's IHFC showroom. "The thing is they don't completely dominate a room. These are more background pieces. It makes placement of furniture much easier. With central medallions, it makes it more difficult."
Spencer-Churchill said her favorite rug of those on display was a blue one. She said she feels the color is underrated in design.
"People are afraid of using blue; they think it's cold, but it's not," she said.
While the initial launch included a few designs, Spencer-Churchill said more is in store from Loloi in April.
"This is the first small collection. I've got my own big designs that are coming out next spring. We're working on it at the moment," Spencer-Churchill said. "These are very general. The next collection will be more designer-related."
