Sears marketing chief Chow resigns

Hoffman Estates,Ill.– Barely two years into her promotion, Joan Chow left her post as svp and chief marketing officer for Sears Roebuck and Co. as of late last week.

A company spokesperson told HTT that the company has already begun searching for her replacement. In the interim, Maureen McGuire, evp and cmo for Sears Holdings, is overseeing marketing for Sears Roebuck and Co.

Chow became svp/cmo in the summer of 2005 and was responsible for the strategic integration of Sears Roebuck's marketing and customer relationship management efforts. Prior to that, she served as vp, marketing services.

Since joining Sears in 1998, Chow held various marketing roles in Sears' Home Services, including director of customer relationship marketing, director of business marketing, and vp of marketing.
