Stein Mart accelerates home department upgrades

Jacksonville, Fla. – Stein Mart is two months ahead of plan in its home department “reinvention” with installations done in more than half of all 261 stores, HTT has learned from Kassie Jones, vp, gmm.
The new sets appeal to two core Stein Mart shoppers: the working woman with traditional and opulent taste, and the somewhat younger consumer who prefers casual looks. The company invested in all-new, color-led design themes, which will support more frequent seasonal product introductions.
Vendors are being informed earlier in each seasonal sequence, in order to keep impulse shopping activated; core lines stay consistent but fresh items will build out the look every 60 days.
Presentation now includes three fully dressed queen beds, with neat stacking of related bed and bath components; an expanded dec pillow assortment; major additions to comforter sets; and solid-color bath towel walls in the back.
