Pier 1 appoints several execs to vp posts

Fort Worth, TX — Pier 1 Imports has announced the promotions of seven executives to executive vp titles, and four others to senior vp posts, most of whom have been with the company for at least 10 years.
Robert Arlauskas has been named executive vp of stores from his position of senior vp of stores, a position he has held since 1999. Jay Jacobs has been promoted to executive vp of merchandising. Since 1995, he served as senior vp of merchandising. Rod Lawrence has been named executive vp of legal. He joined Pier 1 as vp of legal affairs in 1985 and was promoted to senior vp of legal affairs in 1992. Phil Schneider has been appointed executive vp of marketing from his position of senior vp of marketing. Cary Turner has been promoted to executive vp of finance and cfo. He joined the company in 1992 as vp/controller and subsequently was promoted to senior vp of stores and then senior vp of finance and cfo. David Walker has been appointed executive vp of logistics. He became senior vp of logistics/allocations in 1999. And Mitch Weatherly has been promoted to executive vp of human resources. He was named senior vp of human resources in 1992.
Susan Barley has been promoted to senior vp of finance from her position as vp of finance. Rick Blackwelder has been appointed senior vp of real estate. He has served as vp of real estate and development since 1994. Robert Kling has been named senior vp of merchandising. He has served as vp of merchandising since 1999. Andy Laudato has been promoted to senior vp of information systems from the position of vp of information systems.
