Ghent, Belgium —Thirty-nine decorative fabrics companies have signed on to participate in the first edition of Decosit HKG, a new fabrics and furnishings show sponsored by Textirama.
Textirama, which produces Decosit and Deco Contract in Brussels, Belgium each September, will launch this Asian exhibition in Hong Kong March 21 to March 23, 2006.
The exhibitor base will be limited to those at the Brussels show. Visitors will be on an invitation-only basis. A maximum of 70 exhibitors will be featured, depending on the size of the stands reserved, said Peter Dewaele, commercial manager for the event at Textirama. Stand sizes are 16, 24 and 40 square meters.
American exhibitors that have signed on to date are Rockland Mills, and Tietex. The U.S. Department of Commerce is scheduled to have a business center.
Decosit HKG will be held in the Hong Kong Convention Centre. The show is the result of requests by exhibitors, Dewaele explained. “They have pointed out that there have been fewer visitors from the Asia-Pacific area to Brussels each year for the past few years.”
In Brussels, Decosit and Deco Contract will be held Sept. 9 to Sept. 12.
