Revman adds color, expands bath

This market sees the extension into bath of the
plenty by Tracy Reese collection.

At the New York Market – Color is king at Revman International this week as the company unveils the Steve Madden bedding collection, extends plenty by Tracy Reese into bath, and updates its other licensed brand collections.
“Color this market is one of the biggest statements you’re going to see around the market,” said Diane Piemonte, vp, creative services. “Color makes people happy.”
Steve Madden debuts with six colorful beds. The line will be put up as an ensemble that includes a comforter, sheet set, two shams, two dec pillows and a signature Steve Madden tote bag.
Tracy Reese bath – expanding upon the bedding debut at Revman last year – includes richly hued jacquard towels, sculpted solid color towels, bath accessories, shower curtains and rugs.
“We have a lot more bath than people think we have,” said Piemonte.
Overall this market, Revman is making a strong branded statement in bath, highlighting along with Tracy Reese its bath towels and coordinates for Columbia, Marimekko, Tommy Bahama, and Michael Kors. Revman is also displaying on-trend bath in its own Manor Hill line, which retailers can run under Revman’s label or their own house brands.
Tommy Bahama’s four new beds have a master bedroom focus with a casual lifestyle tone. “We’re making sure it reads to all customers – it’s not regional,” said Sheldon Good, vp merchandising.
For Michael Kors, Revman is showing graphic prints inspired by Kors apparel, but also one cool, sleek take. Malibu is a clean, contemporary yarn-dye top of bed with tiny metallic stripes paired with overscale zebra print on the sheeting, rendered in a pale gray. Pale lavender toss pillows accent the bed.
Laura Ashley Home “is taking more direct inspiration from the European collection because they are really moving that along,” said Piemonte. Revman is pairing the new – in one case, a graphic floral – with the tried and true, such as country quilting. “It’s one of the few brands that still has patterns out there that you can’t kill,” she said.
A new layering item that can also merchandise as a stand-alone in Ashley is a Chinese grid quilted coverlet in five colors. Revman is showing an Asian floral print sheet alongside it as a second sheet suggestion.
In Perry Ellis America, the new Puff Perry comforter is inspired by the shiny micro-fiber puff jacket popular in young adult outwear. Revman put it on the bed in dusty European colors, but also has a selection of bright solids on display.
Colombia is showing two new master bedroom looks that appeal to an outdoorsy sensibility but dodge the “lodge” novelty pigeon hole. Also new under the brand is a slew of new throws, including printed fleece, embroidered fleece, ribbed fleece and sherpa that reverses to fleece. Some of the items are also offered as blankets. The Sweatshirt Throw made of sweatshirt fabric that was introduced last market is now being packaged with a companion Sweatshirt Pillow.
In the final new launch this market, Revman is debuting Incog-Neato, a decorative, leak-poof pad for children, animals and adults. The line includes six designs for children, four for dogs and four solid color offerings for adults.
While it addresses bed-wetting concerns, Good noted, “People can use it in the car for when the kids come out of the pool or the dog comes in from the lake. Kids can use it as a placemat. It can be a changing mat for a hand floor. It can do a lot of things.”
