Hedaya gets into bed with Cheri Blum

NEW YORK -Cheri Blum's designs will soon adorn bedding from Hedaya Home Fashions.
Hedaya announced several floral designs from the Georgetown, MD-based artist will be previewed during February's mini-market with samples coming out soon thereafter in plenty of time for spring market.
"Cheri Blum gives us added dimension," said Jack McDonnell, vp of sales for Hedaya Home Fashions, based here. "Her name and her work, although they aren't as big as some of the other designers, fill a niche and give us diversification.
"We see her as a rising star as far as designer home fashions is concerned," McDonnell added.
Handcrafted patch quilts, throws, pillows and shams as well as quilted throws, pillows and shams and matching accessories will be produced by Hedaya. Patterns titled Roses In Bloom, Rose Path and Narcissus will definitely be produced with the possibility of adding two or three more. Although the designs are not final yet, McDonnell said, colorways will include off-white and white with muted tones of violet, pink, as well as green accents and neutral shades.
Blum also designs home fashions for more than 20 other manufacturers of home, office and decorative goods.
"[Those three patterns] embrace the essence of Cheri Blum botanical creations," said McDonnell, adding that they will be done on cracked antique linen made from 100 percent cotton with cotton fill.
Aimed at department and specialty stores as well as catalog companies, retail price points will range from $99 to $149. Products will be available for shipping by May.
Hedaya also currently produces licensed home textiles for Joseph Abboud.
