HTT Sets Expansion Plan for 2014
November 29, 2013-- Home Textiles Today,
New York - Home Textiles Today will launch its next iteration in January 2014 with an expanded area of coverage, a newly designed format and a new frequency.
The industry's leading business information resource, both in print and online, will kick off its 35th year with a new mission ... and even a new name, Home & Textiles Today.
In announcing the changes, Matt Slaine, owner of Progressive Business Media, parent to H&TT, said, "In many of my meetings with members of the industry, I have heard a number of similar themes. One of the more prevalent ones from our readers was that they were no longer just buying textiles in the traditional sense of the word and they needed help as their buying roles have expanded.
"Therefore we have taken the bold step of expanding our expertise to reflect the changing dynamics of the marketplace."
Starting with the January issue, H&TT will broaden product coverage to include categories allied to textiles, including home wares, bath hardware, furnishings, storage and cleaning products.
In conjunction with this expansion, the publication will move to a new frequency with beefed-up monthly issues in a new newsmagazine format, supplemented by special issues, including the 2014 Business Annual and textiles pre-market issues. Warren Shoulberg, H&TT publisher, said: "The publication over the course of its lifetime has had various frequencies and editorial focuses as the industry it reports on has evolved and changed. This is just our latest evolution."
To facilitate these expanded areas of coverage, H&TT is adding personnel to both its editorial and sales staffs as well as a significant expansion of its overall circulation, representing a substantial investment from its new owners, Progressive Business Media. All of these will be additions to the existing base for the home textiles industry.
"Please know our commitment to the home textiles industry remains as strong as ever," said Shoulberg. "Our readers will continue to find our full range of news, analysis, research, statistics and commentary both in print and online.
"There will just be more of it now for our readers to use to help run their businesses." The first issue of Home & Textiles Today will appear on Jan. 6, 2014, in print and online.
