Costco reports sales, comp increases for October

Issaquah, Wash. - Costco Wholesale Corporation's October net sales grew 6% to $8.15 billion over the four-week period.
Excluding negative impacts from gasoline price deflation and foreign exchange, comps for the month were up 5% for the U.S. division, 7% internationally and 6% for the total company.
Year to date, sales rose 6% to $18.01. Comps, excluding negative impacts from gasoline price deflation and foreign exchange, grew 5% for the U.S. division, 6% internationally, and 6% for the total company over the nine-week period.
The warehouse club plans to open up to seven new unts by yearend. Costco, currently operates 642 warehouses, including 457 in the United States and Puerto Rico, 86 in Canada, 34 in Mexico, 25 in the United Kingdom, 18 in Japan, 10 in Taiwan, nine in Korea and three in Australia.
