Ruth Fox, 69

Retail Editor 1, October 21, 2013

Queens, NY - Services were held here this past Saturday for Ruthann Fox, a long-time designer in the home textiles business who passed away near her home in Cornelius, N.C. on Oct 14 after an illness. She was 69.
Fox - known to everyone she worked with as Ruthie - spent most of her career with Fieldcrest Cannon, where she was a senior designer for bedding, for many of those years on the company's Monticello brand. She later worked for Springs and retired several years ago.
In a string of emails circulating about her passing, friends recalled her "special laugh," her "unique personality" and "the sparkle she brought to life." One said, "She was the type of personality that even though we had not seen her for a long time she is one you never really forget. Ruthie was one of a kind and will be missed by many."
No immediate survivors were noted in her obituary, but the family did say that donations in her name can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN, www.stjude.org.
