Bardwil boosts basics with next generation of microfiber tablecloths

New York - Taking its solid color program of table linens to new heights this market is Bardwil Linens with the launch of its engineered border microfiber tablecloth.

Claiming to be "first-to-market" with this newly developed product, Bardwil's new engineered product represents "the next step to microfiber."

"While we've had the microfiber, we've never had the capability of doing an engineered solid," explained Nancy Kristoff, president of sales and marketing.

She said Bardwil was prompted to create this next generation of microfiber tablecloths because of the ongoing popularity of the construction.

"Our microfiber table linens business is still so strong, still the single most important solid program for all of the obvious reasons," Kristoff said, citing its spill-proof, easy-care, "beautiful drape, and beautiful hand" as among microfiber's benefits.

"We always promote our seasonal collections and our brands. But we sort of overlook the solid color part, and it is really the backbone of any table or kitchen department," Kristoff said. "Solid color is an enormous part of our business. So this market we thought we'd devote a portion of showroom to solid color because we really are the forerunner in the solid color table linens business."

The engineered microfiber cloths are more formal than their earlier sister version.

"Right now, our microfibers can be dressed up or down, but these new ones lean more on formal side," she urged.

For the launch, the collection comes in five colors -- white, ivory, sage, khaki and merlot - which represent Bardwil's top selling shades.

Suggested retail pricing also speaks to the collection's dressier look at $29.99 - or $5 above the standard microfiber's $24.99 ticket.

Available sizes include: 52-by-70, 60-by-84, 60-by-102, and 60-by-120 for cloths. The collection also includes placemats, napkins and runners.

Also new from Bardwil in the table linens category for market are two new collections for each of its three licensed brands - Lenox, Vera and Tommy Bahama.
