Home Depot earnings double in 4Q

Atlanta - The Home Depot reported earnings per share for the fourth quarter of 36 cent, twice the 18 cents per share it recorded in last year's 4Q.
Earnings for the quarter ended Jan. 30 were $587 million compared to $301 million in the year-ago quarter.
Sales rose 3.8% to $15.1 billion. Total comps increased 3.9%, with U.S. comps up 4.8%.
For the full fiscal year, EPS was $2.01, up 28%. Sales increased 2.8% to $68.0 billion. Comps were up 2.9%. U.S. comps rose 2.5%.
