Shoppers trust Ty

Port Washington, N.Y. – When it comes to celebrity advertising, Ty Pennington is tops with consumers, according to a new study from The NPD Group.

The home improvement guru, who has an exclusive home furnishings collection at Sears, ranked the highest on positive purchase impact among consumers who knew each celebrity in the survey. Lance Armstrong, George Foreman and Kirstie Alley also scored highly among NPD’s list of celebrities as being "someone I trust."

George Foreman had the highest endorsement/ad awareness, while Martha Stewart ranked highest with consumers saying she "is in too many ads"

Celebrities who have a negative impact on purchasing, according to NPD, include Kobe Bryant, Donald Trump, Britney Spears, Paris Hilton and Anna Nicole Smith.
