Mohawk Home has Coke and a smile

Mohawk Home is the newest home textiles licensee for the well-known Coca-Cola brand, which is steadily increasing its presence within the category.

Home textiles are a natural extension for the Coca-Cola brand, Becky Anderson, North American home furnishings category manager for Coca-Cola Co., told HTT.

For Coca-Cola, Mohawk marks the brand's eighth home textiles licensing partner.

And for Mohawk, the partnership represents one of its fastest turnaround programs. Just a few short weeks after completion of the deal, Mohawk has already produced a line of woven decorative pillows and shipped them to a major discount chain's stores nationwide.

Mohawk's new Coca-Cola line includes fully coordinated collections of woven decorative pillows, throws and table linens, heat-set transfer polyester kitchen comfort mats and chromajet printed polyester rugs. A rollout of all product is expected soon, and all the product will be made domestically in Mohawk's facilities here.

The line targets major discounters and mid-tier retailers. Coca-Cola initially gave Mohawk four designs to translate on product for the launch, with more designs to come, Anderson said.

"Mohawk offers a great variety of product at a very high quality," Anderson said.

Other major home textiles licensees of the Coca-Cola brand include: Springs Industries, which for the past year has produced bath towels, rugs, shower curtains and accessories featuring at least two Coca-Cola designs; Spectrix, for bulk fabric; Park Imports, for kitchen textiles; Hilasal, for beach towels; Owen Manufacturing, for blankets and throws; Scene Weavers, for throws and pillows; and Manual Woodworkers of America, for tapestry goods.
