Hancock names former Wards dmm to new operations post

Tupelo, MS — Hancock Fabrics today named James Austin executive vp, operations, a newly created position.

Since 1995, Austin was dmm for linens, domestics and window fashions at Wards, which went out of business earlier this year. Prior to that, he held merchandising management positions at Tuesday Morning and Waccamaw Linen.

Austin will report directly to Jack Busby, Jr., president and coo, and will oversee merchandising, marketing, store operations and distribution.
