Diane Jackson Cole closing DJC Design Studio
Home & Textiles Today Staff -- Home Textiles Today, March 6, 2006
Concord, N.H. – Diane Jackson Cole, president, and Karen Carpenter, vp of DJC Design Studio, have decided to retire after 18 years of delivering unique decorative throws to leading retailers around the world. A core part of the company will continue to ship some major accounts with orders on the books through fall 2006, but much of the equipment in the 15,000-sq.-ft. facility will be auctioned off on March 15.
Cole and Carpenter ended a fruitless search for a strategic corporate alliance for DJC. In all, Cole founded and ran three textile companies during the past 33 years, and said she looks forward to painting, travel and more time with friends and family. Carpenter will move to Georgia, where she and her husband had lived for several years.
Among the awards won by DJC Design Studio: many designs selected by Heimtextil Trend, Pitti Casa Trend Invitational, Maison & Objet; the Garnet Hill Outstanding Quality Award, Adex Awards for Design Excellence and Best New Product Awards from the NY Home Textile Show; and the SBA’s Exporter of the Year Award.
