Sphinx debuts hand-tufted line at High Point

Dalton,Ga.– Sphinx by Oriental Weavers is showing a new hand-tufted line and additions to its National Geographic Home, Woolrich Home,Capri, and Supernatural collections atHigh Pointthis week.
The new hand-tufted collection is titled Bukhara , which comprises rugs made of hand-spun wool yarn and finished with a special wash for a rich luster. Designs are traditional, and a 5-by-8 is set to retail for $799.
The National Geographic Italia area rugs feature 18th century Italian designs with high-low textural details. These rugs are hand-tufted of 100% wool and set to retail for $599 in size 5-foot-6-inch-by-8-foot-6-inch.
The Woolrich Home collection is being expanded with two handcrafted signature pieces. Alpine Ridge is a shag in a high-low construction made of New Zealand wool, and a 5-by-8 is priced at $499. Harvest is a 100% wool flat woven design in warm colors -- red, green, chocolate and tan. The retail is $399 for a 5-by-8.
The Capri collection of 100% wool hand-tufted rugs comprises soft contemporary designs in muted colors. It is set to retail for $399 for a 5-foot-6-inch-by-8-foot-6-inch.
Shimmer is the new hand-tufted and hand-carved rug being added to the Supernatural collection. It has an ultra-thick, wool pile and is accented with specially dyed yarns in plum and ivory for a lustrous sheen. A 5-by-8 is priced at $399.
