QVC chief merchandiser Ronning to retire

West Chester, Pa. – Randy Ronning will retire as executive vp, chief merchandising officer at QVC at the end of this year.

Ronning, who joined QVC in 2001 as executive vp, QVC.com, will be succeeded by Bob Ayd, currently senior vp, merchandise operations, global sourcing and home design. He will assume some of his new duties in October.

Ronning was promoted to his present position – which combined responsibilities for both QVC and QVC.com -- in August 2005. He joined the company from JCPenney, where he headed the retailer’s early Internet and catalog activities and earlier had been president of JCPenney’s home business.

Ayd is a 30-year retailing veteran with 20 years at Federated Department Stores and 10 at QVC.

Ronning also said that the position of director of merchandising, Home Style, previously held by Paul Callaro, would not be filled at this time. Callaro now is with Linens ’n Things.
