China conference to focus on building brands

BEIJING — The China Home Textiles Association will focus on getting up to speed with global standards and best practices when it convenes the annual Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles Conference early next month.
"Through the years of rapid development, China’s home textiles industry has become rich both in terms of size and the product varieties. However, brands with market eminence are still very few, and the situation is true especially regarding brands that can stand the market test," said Yang Donghui, the association's chief director.
"The market competition now is not only the competition of products and price but also businesses that can become cost-effective and logistically accurate," he added.
The conference will take place Saturday, Sept. 4, beginning at 1 p.m. at the Yu Hang Building in Hang Zhou. It follows the close of the Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles Fair taking place Sept. 1-3 in Shanghai.
