FIT memorializes Florence, Stewart

New York -- The Fashion Institute of Technology held a ceremony earlier this week to celebrate the lives of two home products industry leaders, the late Leonard Florence and Sy Stewart.

A plaque was dedicated for the Dr. Leonard Florence and Sy Stewart Global Scholars Endowment, which provides scholarships and grants for travel abroad to outstanding FIT students majoring in Home Products Development. The $300,000 endowment was established with a gift from Michael Fux, entrepreneur and founder of Sleep Innovations, and a matching grant from the Peter J. Sharp Foundation.
