QVC readies "Better than Black Friday" event

West Chester, Pa. - Television and e-commerce retailer QVC, which saw its U.S. mobile orders increase 142% during the third quarter, said it is expecting Cyber Monday to be more mobile-minded as shoppers increasingly rely on hand-help devices to make holiday purchases.
As QVC put it, "Cyber Monday will look more like Mobile Monday" and the retailer sees the day-long event as "a key milestone for the trend." Social media, too, "will be a major force driving holiday traffic" to QVC, as the retailer plans to introduce new social experiences to engage shoppers.
"QVC has the second largest mobile retail business in the U.S., and our strategy to create digital shopping experiences with strong integration across TV, PC, tablet and mobile platforms is not only a success with our customers, but is significantly outpacing the industry," said Claire Watts, ceo, QVC U.S.
For the holiday season, QVC personalities will unveil new gift ideas every day on QVC, QVC.com, and through social channels.
New this season is the QVC.com Gift Tab, where shoppers can click to find gift ideas inspired by QVC hosts, guests and the QVC customer community. QVC.com will also feature the most pinned items from the QVC Pinterest boards - one of the many ways shoppers can contribute to QVC's gift ideas. QVC will also reveal weekly chapters of its Inspired Gifting story.
QVC's "Better than Black Friday" will air 48 hours of nonstop shopping with deals in every show beginning Nov. 22. The Black Friday Today's Special Value will be available Thursday at midnight (ET), with other special offers on gifts in every show. Mobile Monday will include a Today's Special Value and special pricing on more than 5,000 items on QVC.com and on the QVC app, including "Gifts Under $50."
Also, QVC is offering "Easy Pay" on every Today's Special Value now through Christmas Eve, allowing customers to receive items right away with extended payments.
