Bloomies blows into Chicago
January 27, 2003-- Home Textiles Today,
On Feb. 6, Bloomingdale's will open the doors of its largest Home + Furniture format store here.
Located in the historic Medinah Temple building, the unit spans 130,000 square feet over four stories and will have seven departments, including furniture, rugs, mattresses, housewares, tabletop, domestics and luggage. An extensive kitchen and housewares selection as well as a demonstration kitchen will be on the first floor, with furniture on the third floor. The store layout will integrate ease-of-shopping features as well, so shoppers can flow easily from one vignette or floor to another.
The new store will also premiere East Meets West — A Fusion of New Design for this spring season. With influences from Asia, Europe and North America, the new collection incorporates furniture, fabrics, textiles and objects together in one spot.
