Mervyn's has promoted Michael Rotar to dmm/home. He will report directly to Tom Tennyson, senior vp and gmm for home, jewelry, accessories, shoes, and intimate apparel.
Rotar joined Mervyns as an assistant buyer in the merchandising training program and has since held various positions. Prior posts have included senior merchandise planning analyst for men's denim and young men's, merchandise planning manager for men's sportswear tops, buyer for men's sportswear, senior buyer for men's dress shirts and basics, and senior buyer for adults athletic and men's footwear. He was promoted to director of merchandise planning for men's in March 2004.Rotar will be responsible for strategic management and planning, spearheading merchandising and new product initiatives, executing national and private label brand strategies, and product development.
