Welspun taps Hamilton to direct marketing

New York — Welspun USA has hired industry veteran Bob Hamilton as marketing director. He will begin immediately and head all marketing, merchandising, and brand development.
Hamilton’s career has included key positions in bed and bath marketing and sales with Fieldcrest, Cannon, and Pillowtex. He was closely associated with the development and expansion of the Royal Velvet and Charisma brands. After the closing of Pillowtex in July of 2003, Hamilton began his own marketing consulting firm, Hamilton Concepts, focused on the home industry.
Hamilton joins Jerry McCarthy, who moved to Welspun in November 2005 as sales director. McCarthy’s career has included key marketing positions at Fieldcrest Cannon and Springs Industries. As a veteran of the towel industry, he has been instrumental in developing major retail programs with every leading retailer in America.
