828 INTERNATIONAL TRADING CO.
828 International is introducing two collections — Greenville and Focus — which answer different design, construction and fiber needs at competitive price points.
The Greenville collection is a series of rugs featuring traditional patterns in warm colors. Each rug is power-loomed of heat-set polypropylene and has a soft hand. The collection comes in a full range of sizes; a 5 by 8 will retail for $299.
Focus rugs are hand-tufted of wool in contemporary, artistic patterns enhanced with hand-carved accents. The designs are made in a range of colors, from muted to bold. Focus comes in three area rug sizes, with the 5 by 8 set at $299.
Balta has developed a broad collection of Southwest-inspired rugs, similar to vintage Indian trade blankets and traditional Western designs, as well as lodge rugs.
They are part of the company’s American Rhythm collection, a new group that comprises Americana themes, Southwest and lodge looks, transitional designs and contemporary styles.
The rugs are made from in-house extruded olefin and feature 16 different earth tone colors through the various rugs. Available sizes are 5 by 8 and 8 by 11.
Capel is showing several new wool collections and a new olefin group as well as additions to some popular existing collections. New collections include: Honeycomb, a reversible that is made of 55-percent wool and 35-percent cotton featuring a variegated wool pattern flecked with chenille for a popcorn texture; Jahan, a 120-line hand-tufted Persian group made of 100-percent wool; Nadia, an olefin Wilton-woven group from Romania and made in Persian and Caucasian patterns; Pebbles, a hand-knotted 100-percent New Zealand wool collection from India; and Capel Kidz, a new juvenile collection made in a 95-percent cotton chenille blend.
New patterns are being added to the Seabreeze indoor-outdoor collection and to the 100-percent New Zealand wool Prism collection.
Capel is also adding oval and round shapes and new colors to its licensed program with the Williamsburg Basketweave collection.

Central Oriental is introducing several new collections and is expanding some of its existing groups.
The Belgium lines — Images, Royal, Reflections and Traditions — all have new patterns. The company is also introducing a new line of shaggy polypropylene from Belgium in monochromatic, neutral colorations, called Signature. Retail on a 5 by 8 is $249. In addition, there are many new designs and fresh collections from the domestic factory, Flemish Master Weavers, in Maine.
As part of its expansion of its branding partnership with Woolrich, the company is adding the Summerstone Falls braided-texture rug collection to the line. Summerstone Falls comprises rectangular sizes featuring geometric, diamond-shaped patterns available in six colorways: rust, chocolate, camel, gold, algae and chestnut.
These rugs are reversible and are made of 56-percent wool, 35-percent polyester and 9-percent nylon, in a flat and corded braid construction.
The collection represents cmi’s second Woolrich-branded collection; the first, Timeless Retreat, includes oval shaped rugs in alternating potpourri styles that come in five colorways.
The Summerstone Falls rugs will coordinate with other soft accessories, like chair pads, trivets, stair treads, utility baskets, hampers, waste baskets, nesting bowls, tote bags and floor pillows.

Couristan is expanding its power-loomed assortment with the new Marco Island collection of rugs made of a special 100-percent heat-set polypropylene that is an in-house trademarked variety called Courtron. These cut-and-loop pile rugs feature a block pattern contrasted by warm color schemes. Available sizes include accent, area, room and runner dimensions.
In the handmade category, there are two new collections — Oasis and Pokhara. Oasis rugs are transitional in design, inspired by Nomadic-Gabbeh looks, and feature bright colors. They are hand-crafted of 100-percent semi-worsted virgin wool and come in an extra heavy pile, which contributes to the uneven dying process.
Pokhara rugs are transitional and contemporary. They are hand-knotted in an Indo-Nepalese weave of 100-percent semi-worsted New Zealand wool.
Both collections come in accent, area, room size and runner dimensions.
FEIZY IMPORTS & EXPORTS
New to Feizy’s Home collection are several distinct groups. Alexandra comprises hand-tufted wool rugs in patterns inspired by traditional Middle Eastern designs. Gazebo is an indoor-outdoor collection of machine-woven 100-percent polypropylene rugs, all of which are fade- and mildew-resistant. The licensed Wrangler-branded collection is being expanded with the Cedar Hill group of casual patterns in natural colorways.
The Ellery collection, comprising hand-tufted rugs made of 100 percent wool, comes in casual, geometric designs.
Feizy’s Fine Rug line is also being expanded with several new collections. Faulkner comprises classic patterns with antique finishes. Adolphus is a group of classic Oushak patterned rugs in bold colors. These rugs are made using hand-spun, vegetable-dyed wool.
One-year-old Gulistan, sister to longtime rug company Bacova Guild, is expanding upon two successful Stainmaster-branded area rug collections.
For its 1200 Series, Gulistan recently launched the Stainmaster Area Rug event in support of the consumer campaign that continues through spring 2006 in shelter magazines, newspapers and television. The company offers dealers direct-mail pieces, posters, window static and a new freestanding area rug rack with Stainmaster graphics.
Also new for market is the Mélange collection of tufted, bordered rugs made of nylon yarn. This collection features tonal-resist technology which provides a saturated gradation of color and a space-dyed appearance. The tufted pattern is inspired by Tibetan weaves. Featured in the rugs are 12 colors, each available in one of four woven fabric borders sourced from Valdese Weavers.
Gulistan is also enhancing its most popular patterns within the hand-tufted wool Inspiration and its aggressively priced wool hand-loomed Calistoga collections: new colorways, such as rich gray-toned shades that complement earthy browns, brick and burgundy hues will accent these lines.
For the outdoors, the company will debut four collections, each of which uses multiple colorways and designs, all constructed of woven and knitted polypropylene with extra UV protection.
HELLENIC RUG IMPORTS
Hellenic Rug Imports will be introducing new collections and additions to existing collections. New collections include Heriz, a heat-set polypropylene machine-made group in eight-color tribal patterns.

Hellenic will be introducing collections with new fibers and constructions, including a new emphasis on twisted wool yarns used in traditional through contemporary styles.
A new shag — made of felted wool — called Pebbles is also being shown. The rugs from this group are thick and are made with multiple spaced-dyed felted pebble-like yarns.
Finally, the company is expanding its license partnership with the Dick Idol brand.
